In 2016, Russian and Ukrainian urban explorer Vitaliy Raskalov of Ontheroofs free-climbed to the top of the tower; a video of the feat has been seen more than 4.6 million times and garnered international media attention.

The Ping An Finance building is the world’s fourth-tallest structure. It was constructed in 2017 in Shenzhen, China, and is 1,965 feet tall with 115 storeys. The structure houses offices, a hotel, retail space, a conference centre, and an upscale shopping mall.
