February is a popular month for vacations, especially for families. This is a wonderful opportunity to escape what will hopefully be the final winter cold and soak up some much-needed sun before returning home to observe the first signs of spring.

1. New Orleans

A vacation in New Orleans must be one of life’s great adventures. At the best of times, this hotspot of unique culture, jazz music, and ultra-tasty Cajun cuisine is a tremendous lure for tourists.
The presence of Mardi Gras, the spectacular carnival, makes it one of the greatest holiday destinations in February. Mardi Gras, also known as Fat Tuesday, is a must-see celebration in February, with parades beginning a few days before the major occasion.
It will be hectic, but it will be an incredible and unique experience! If you like to visit New Orleans at a slower pace, go in the beginning of the month and take in the sights and sounds of sites like Jackson Square in the French Quarter. 2. Venice

3. Miami

It’s a strong contender for the greatest place to go on vacation in February because it provides the whole vacation experience. It features a busy nightlife and huge beaches, with South Beach occupying three miles of Miami sand. Ocean Drive, a stretch of high-end bars, hotels, and restaurants, is a part of that region.
Little Havana and the Wynwood Art District are a little further afield, as are the Florida Keys and Orlando. Miami will be packed with students on Spring Break in March, as well as the Ultra Music Festival – so beat the crowds and go in February.
4. Dominican Republic

This is one of the most popular Caribbean islands, so it’s no wonder that it’s one of the finest February vacation options.
The Dominican Republic is an excellent choice for a relaxing vacation with magnificent beaches such as Punta Cana, Playa Dorada, and Playa Boca Chica.
It also has a vibrant nightlife scene, with open-air bar terraces where you can drink in the vistas as well as wonderful cocktails, and some gloriously ancient cities – the capital city, Santo Domingo, is a must-see with its fortress and cathedrals. It’s ideal for an all-inclusive vacation.
5. Canada
The best February vacation spots may not have to be ones that offer winter sun. Some of the best give snow instead! There are a handful of fantastic ski resorts.
British Columbia in Canada is one of them, led by Whistler, a town immediately north of Vancouver. Whistler is a terrific place for skiers and snowboarders.
It not only offers world-class skiing and snowboarding, but also ice skating, winter bungee jumping, dog sledding, and hockey tours.
There are also numerous restaurants, boutiques, and spas to help you unwind. Banff, in Alberta’s National Park, is another great place to visit in February.

6. Mauritius

Seasons in the southern hemisphere are the inverse of those in the northern hemisphere (for example, Europe), so its summer lasts from November to April, which means the weather in February is usually hot and humid.
If you want a lengthy and relaxed sunbathing vacation, this is ideal, but Mauritius also has lots of fascinating sights to discover. If you have the opportunity, try the Rodrigues coastal walk, spend a day or two exploring the bustling town of Port Louis, or go whale and dolphin spotting.
7. Benidorm
You might think of Benidorm as a brash seaside town, overrun with tourists looking for all-day breakfasts and inexpensive entertainment.
Think again; while this sun-kissed Costa Blanca hotspot caters to all tastes, it also has lots of charm, and there’s a reason it’s always such a popular choice for visitors.
It all depends on what you’re looking for. With moderate temperatures even in late winter and early spring, it is unquestionably one of the top February vacation spots.
It’s certainly quieter than during the high summer season, but the gorgeous sandy beaches remain, and there are still lots of clubs and restaurants operating.

A vacation to Paris is always encouraged – there’s never a good reason not to go! But, of course, February comes school half-term breaks, and that means Disneyland Paris is calling.

The Canary Islands have excellent all-year appeal, owing to their consistently high climate – visit any of its constituent islands at any time of year and you’ll find sunny temps.
Tenerife is great for sun seekers looking for an early beach break, and families will find plenty of options in resorts, with lovely white sandy beaches, a wide selection of restaurants and bars, and entertainment.
Leading resorts include the bustling Playa de las Americas, the elegant Costa Adeje, and the calm and soothing Los Gigantes.
10. New York

New York is the city to visit for the ultimate city break. The Big Apple is a breathtaking destination with so much to offer that a weekend is insufficient! In fact, there’s so much to do in New York that you’ll want to go back again and again.
