Dunsin was born in the capital of Kwara state, Ilorin Nigeria, to the General Overseer of the Evangelical Baptist Church, Gbadebo Oyekan. He began playing the guitar at the age of ten, encouraged by his father, who once led the ‘Spiritual Singers,’ a music group that focused on worshipping God.
Dunsin studied Industrial Chemistry at the University of Ilorin before being fully called into the worship ministry in 2014.
According to Oyekan claims God called him to be a full-time worship minister in 2014, despite the fact that he had long suspected that God was leading him into ministry.
